Muivah reportedly hardened its stance on its own constitution and shared sovereignty, saying that if the Indian constitution prevails in the agreement, Nagaland`s special status could waste some time in the future. In making the FA public, the NSCN stressed that Ravi had “doctored” the original agreement and that he may therefore have acted beyond the New Delhi mission and that he had to be withdrawn because he had broken his self-confidence. But it`s definitely about more. So why did the NSCN (I-M) break its promise at the Centre? Especially at a time when the Centre`s interlocutor, R.N. Ravi, had declared that all the important agreements on the peace agreement had been reached last October and that there were only a few small unanswered questions left? Isak and Muivah both decided, after five years of signing the agreement, to restore the tarnished image of the NNC because it had accepted the Indian Constitution, openly rejected the agreement, which it called a “betrayal” by the NNC, and condemned it as a total “liquidation” of Naga`s rights, including derogatory remarks against Phizo, and vowed to fight for indisputable sovereignty; Thus, the muivah, Isaac and S. Khaplang trio founded the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN), which left their former NNC organization on 2 February 1980. The NSCN, despite its creation as a strong rebel group, never enjoyed the support of the population that NNC enjoyed at its peak. In 1988, the NSCN was fragmented into two distinct factions: NSCN (K) under the leadership of Khaplang and NSCN (IM) under Isak and Muivah. After Phizo`s death on 30 April 1990 in London, the NNC continued to fragment into two other factions: NNC (A) under The daughter of Phizo, Adino and NNC (K), led by the former vice-president of the NNC [[Khodao Yanthan]. However, it is unlikely that the NSCN IM group will be able to take large arms since they do not have a combat team under the 1997 ceasefire agreement. The political attitude of the state has changed a great deal and support for Muivah has diminished over the years in Nagaland. For five years, the two sides did not sign the formal agreement.
In an apparent move that resonated with the central government`s frustration – based on a broader mandate for modi`s government in the 2019 elections in Lok Sabha – Ravi announced October 31 as the deadline for approving the peace deal. In 1960, a 16-point agreement was signed with the Naga People`s Convention. As a result, a separate state of Nagaland, strangely, was eliminated under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. No no. The first peace process began before India`s independence and set the tone for colding the main leaders. In June 1947, the governor of Assam, Sir Akbar Hydari, signed the nine-point agreement with the NNC moderates, but Phizo strongly opposed it. In July 1960 followed by a 16-point agreement that led to the creation of nagaland on December 1, 1963. In this case, too, the agreement was reached with the Naga People`s Convention, which Nagas formed in August 1957 during a period of violence and not with the NNC.
